If it has been a few years since you earned your GIA Graduate Gemologist diploma, GemAccess PLUS is worth a look. GIA’s 2026 program brings current coursework and research together for graduates who want to keep their knowledge fresh.
Available exclusively to GIA Graduate Gemologists, the subscription includes digital materials for Diamond Essentials, Colored Stone Essentials, Diamonds & Diamond Grading, Colored Stones and Gem Identification. You also get hundreds of archived videos and recorded seminars covering updates to the diamond curriculum.
You can work through the ten online modules at your own pace. This year’s subjects include X-ray fluorescence for testing metals and UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy for identifying colored stones, offering a closer look at the tools behind the answers gemologists give every day. The 2026 release schedule runs from February through November.
GIA lists the 2026 price at $485 USD, with a 10 percent discount for alumni. The deadline to complete the ten modules is December 31, 2026. Finish them and you receive a digital Letter of Attendance. As GIA explains, its continuing education offerings do not carry academic credit or lead to a new academic credential.
If you have been meaning to brush up on a familiar subject or spend more time with newer techniques, start with GIA’s GemAccess PLUS page. Before registering, confirm the enrollment year and how long you will have access to the course materials and archives, especially if you are joining near the end of the year.
