Arthur Martin Klein died Oct. 28 in Olney, Maryland, after a brief and sudden illness, INSTORE reported. He was 89.

A career in jewelry marketing
Klein served as director of marketing for Trans American Diamond and Chad Allison, and later as marketing and media manager for Gabriel & Co. His work spanned both jewelry and silver. In 2011 he launched Artmatch Group, a jewelry marketing consultancy he ran for roughly 15 years, as National Jeweler also noted.
A familiar face at trade shows
Klein was a familiar presence at jewelry trade shows, known as much for his kindness as for his marketing know-how. "Arthur was a tremendous person, always positive, yet also very good at his job," INSTORE Editor-in-Chief Trace Shelton told the publication, adding that Klein would not rest until a client's coverage was followed through.
His life and family
Klein was born April 19, 1937, in New York City to Carl and Sylvia Klein. He attended Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, New Jersey, and Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and served in the 104th Engineer Battalion of the New Jersey Army National Guard. He spent most of his life in New Jersey and most recently lived in Silver Spring, Maryland. He loved the performing arts, good food, good conversation and dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta, of Silver Spring; daughters Pamela of Rockville, Maryland, and Catherine of New York; and brother Richard of Tenafly, New Jersey.
A funeral service and burial were held Nov. 1 at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey, with Rabbi Joshua Hess officiating. Goldstein Funeral Chapel of Edison, New Jersey, handled arrangements. Memorial donations may be made in Klein's name to World Central Kitchen.
